(PC05) Q24 - Alcoholic Nihilism Superpower

Q24 (formerly known as Greezus) is a breakcore and noise producer from the USA. Already with a few releases on ENDE Records and after a mindblowing set at AFTER MIDNIGHT Audio Podcast Festival last year (which saw them play alongside noise and death industrial legends The Haters and Deutsch Nepal). We asked them to make their first paid release and something especially destructive and sonically violent for Protocore Records.

They locked themselves in a basement and aborted this.

"Alcoholic Nihilism Superpower" is extreme noise in shifting dynamics and shifting segments.

Built entirely with analogue equipment. It's a ride through Q24's mind. Brutalised by 2020, the pandemic, their job, their addictions, their mind, the people around them and America.

Machine sounds barely recognisable and their own raspy cigarette ravaged voice are squelching, burping, squeaking, screeching, whining, wailing, tripping over each other in a drunken and nitrous haze as Q24 leans into their gear and wrenches every violent sound out of it that they can.

If you're into noise you'll love it. If not you'll probably try and complain about it.

Either way it is what it is.

GEAR USED:

A shitload of old pedals & mixers & rack units of varying brand & character & samplers & shortwave radios & other miscellany, recorded and redubbed some 57,000 times across various formats for maximum excessive, fantastic lo-fi amazingness.

Also, Donald Trump, Jeff Bezos & Daniel Ek are not human beings, & should not be treated as such.
