about

(PC21) Noistruct - The Transgressor: In Dub (Volume 3)

The final instalment of Noistruct's "The Transgressor Expanded: In Dub Series" and possibly the most unsettling.

Inspired by the music of Godflesh's "In Dub" remix series, Lux Nigra's Biophilia Allstars compilation, Ambient 4:Isolationism, Macro Dub Infection compilation series, Electric Ladyland series on Mille Plateaux/Force Inc, The Lo Fibre Companion on Invisible Records, Zhark International, Crossfade Entertainment, Gil Melle's score to the 1971 film "The Andromeda Strain", Zonal's "The Quatermass Project", Alec Empire's "Low On Ice" The "Chinese Whispers" compilation on Sprawl, Thomas Khonen, Fudge Tunnel "versions", Black Lung's "The Coming Dark Age" I-VII by Vitriol and the Final albums "One" and "Two" just to name a few influences...

"The Transgressor: In Dub" collects remixes of the successful 2016 Noistruct album released on ENDE Records produced by a range of artists and producers with no instruction and no direction other than to do whatever you like. The resulting remixes that suited this collection were directed here.

The result is a collection of remixes from various artists and producers over a range of styles and genres that range from dark dub, broken beat industrial, abstract hip hop, industrial doom metal, no step, dark ambient, foundsound experimental, musique concrete, minimal techno and downtempo halftime breakcore and fuckstep among others.

This collection also includes a series of VIP remixes by Noistruct and other related projects such as Mandark and Notex. Some of these remixes were released on ENDE Records as new tracks with new titles. Some have never been released and some were only half finished and completed recently for these collections.

These collections show some of the tracks made between 2014 and 2016 that were considered for "The Transgressor" and would have suited the album but space and time did not allow.

"About 6 years ago while working on a collaboration with German breakcore producer Breakforce One (Gade Systems) that was eventually scrapped at his insistence.
I decided to stop being precious about my music and just re-release, reuse and rework a track I'd made before or include it on another album or EP even if it had already been released. With over 8000 tracks that I've made and some I thought deserved a second shot at being released. I kind of followed the example set by producers like David Thrussell. If it fit on a new release then use it again.
This method of recycling and recontextualising tracks is not something I do with every release but when it fits it can help something new I'm doing sound more complete. I'm not really interested in just throwing up random tracks together online to make a collection. I need a narrative and some flow and cohesion I can enjoy as a complete body of music. So some tracks previously available are retitled and reused here to add more weight and depth to the idea behind this collection of remixes"

I LIKE PRETTY FLOWERS:
ENDE Records resident noisy bastard and mod knob twiddler Steve Munslow's death industrial noise/doom metal project is "I Like Pretty Flowers".
So named because he thought it would be funny to have a noise project that was extreme and disturbing with a name that was completely opposite to the egocentric, macho showpony usual names for such edgy projects these days like "FORCED TRAUMA" or TOXIC KNIFE FUCK" or stupid references to male supremacy, white nationalism or misogyny.

And so I Like Pretty Flowers was born.

DARK MATTER PROJECT:
Drawing inspiration from the giants of drum n bass and jungle and the works of producers like Christoph De Babalon and Beat Rapist as well as Lustmord, Final and Tech Itch. ENDE Records mainstay Dark Matter Project is one of the best junglists around today. A style of kaiju sized building destroying doom tempo jungle and broken beat brilliance that is unmatched in the cookie cutter world of overproduced crossbreed and by the numbers drum n bass.

DECEASED ESTATE:
Deceased Estate is a new kind of noise project from Boris Otterdam. Found sound, manipulated sampled sound and brief recordings are randomised, processed, recorded, layered, recorded, effected, smashed, spat on, rearranged and layered again and again and again until they create a cold, desolate soundscape that is neither here nor there.
Deceased Estate has had one album "Ashes Ashes" released on UK label Sunhole Records in 2020.

BROKEN-FORM:
Broken-Form is the dark ambient noise project of breakcore producer Subbase.

MINORARC:
Minorarc is a progressive metal, dark classical and electronic experimental music project by Australian producer / underground community founder Ivan Bullock. A sonic xploration of despair and regret, built through piano, guitar, bass and synthesis

NOTEX:
Notex is the minimal techno side project for Boris Otterdam. Originally started in 2014 while living in Brisbane Australia.
Minimal dark techno, deeply submerged or drowned pulsing 4/4 kicks surrounded by ethereal choir cuts, distant soundscapes and mantra like repetition. Scratched, rearranged and morphed into strangely unsettling dancefloor alchemy and solitary electronic contemplations. Influenced by the likes of Solaris BC, Porter Ricks and DJ Manson.

FRKNK:
Frknk is an industrial/post-punk band from Perth Western Australia.

SRVTR:
French conceptual artist, painter and noise industrialist Gildas Brugaro aka SRVTR (Servator) has been releasing with ENDE since almost our beginning. A master of musique concrete, harsh noise wall and mood driven atmospheric soundscapes. He also occasionally produces abstract, noise driven techno.

9 years in the European noise scene and more than two decades before that cutting his teeth in various bands and projects. SRVTR has released almost 80 albums and EPs on all formats, contributed to almost 200 compilations all over the world and experimented with many different experimental flavours and genres on labels such as Shitnoise, God Hates God and Foolish Records to name a few.

MANDARK:
Mandark is a dark ambient/extreme noise and soundscape project for West Australian born electronic music producer Boris Otterdam.
Beginning in 2001 as a side project to Noistruct. Mandark creates both analogue and digital recordings, ambient isolationist style soundscapes, impromptu field recordings, extreme noise, spontaneous live synth compositions and dark and disturbing film score sound. influenced by power electronics, extreme and abstract noise, nightmares, sleep deprivation, marijuana smoking (although not anymore) and film scores. Mandark has released over 20 albums and EPs and performed live since 2001 alongside producers like Fraughman, Reka, Gelido, Pselodux, Minorarc, Rotteur, Abre Ojos, Black Lung, Zen Paradox, Chrism and Fenris and Shinjuku Filth to name a few.

HYPERDRIVER:
Hyperdriver needs no introduction. He's just a noisy loud bastard who has been smashing old school noise heavy breakcore since the late 90s and you wouldn't think is the same guy posting about his vege garden. Releases all over the shop and shows alongside some of the finest producers in the world.
